Howard Reid Design
This is what happens when you let go and trust the experts.
Howard Reid Design brings decades of refined Southern design pedigree to the Blue Ridge foothills. Chrissy Howard and Courtney Reid have built a studio for clients who want to let go of the details and trust experts to deliver something layered, bespoke, and quietly timeless.
A studio built on partnership
Howard Reid Design is a full-service luxury interior design studio in the Blue Ridge foothills of Salem, South Carolina. Founded by Chrissy Howard and Courtney Reid, the studio pairs decades of refined design experience with a deeply collaborative approach. Chrissy, a Florida State design graduate and NCIDQ-licensed designer, spent more than 25 years shaping some of the South's most notable homes before founding the studio. Courtney brings a layered perspective drawn from a career in luxury resort retail design and a life lived across seven states. Together, they design for clients who trust the process and expect more.
No cookie-cutter rooms
Every project begins with you, what you're drawn to, how you define home. From there, the studio refines and elevates those instincts into something layered, bespoke, and entirely your own. Whether partnering with your build team on a custom home, guiding a full-scale renovation, or sourcing that one perfect piece, Howard Reid Design speaks the language of builders and craftspeople fluently, translating vision into spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Let go, and trust the process
The most successful projects are built on a clear partnership. You bring the vision; the studio's role is to refine and elevate it into a design that reflects you fully. Trust the process, and what emerges is a home that feels deeply personal, curated, and timeless, never trend-driven, never cookie-cutter.
Eyes and ears on every detail
From custom home design and luxury renovations to construction oversight and bespoke furnishings, Howard Reid Design offers a comprehensive, turn-key experience. They meet regularly with contractors and trade partners on site, ensuring every drawing and specification is honored, your eyes and ears on the job. The result is a seamless process that takes the stress out of building and delivers the moment every client waits for: the big reveal.
